Open to the Light

One of my absolute favorite things to do each morning is opening the blinds.

I open all of the blinds in the dining room, kitchen, and living room and marvel at the sun rising and filling my home with light.

It’s a simple task that I’ve done for as long as I can remember. Even as a child, I would fetch the newspaper and open all of the blinds and curtains.

It is one of the many simple, yet mindful tasks that I do to welcome the light into my heart and home.

It symbolically marks the illumination of things we could not see—the shadowy places—and waves goodbye to any dark remnants of the previous day.

It shines light on my heart and spirit and reminds me each day to open to the light and abundance around me.

Each day I must open to the light and shine my light for all the world to see.

Shine your light this week. Don’t dim your radiance.

What mindful task do you do each day? How does it impact your life? Comment! Share! Shine!
