Start your day by prioritizing your well-being.
You may say you don’t have time, but you do. You can take 10 minutes, 5 minutes, 1 minute each morning to check in with yourself.
It’s likely you’ve been putting everyone else’s needs before your own, but now it’s time for you to take care of yourself. When you take care of yourself, you’re more centered, healthier on all levels, and you’re able to care for others without negating your own care.
So here are just a few suggestions for starting your day with self-care. The list goes on and on, but let’s start here. You can pick one, or more, or all. You’re worth it. And I’m celebrating you for reading this far. Whether you’ve been on the self-care journey or you are just starting, you are committed to your self-care, and that, sister, is worthy of celebrating!
Here they are:
- Move your body. This could be a few gentle stretches in the morning to work out the kinks from a good night’s rest. Or this could be a full blown workout. But move your body in a way that feels good. So if you, like me, love dance, yoga, Pilates, swimming, etc, pick what feels right for you and DO IT! 👏
- Connect with your breath. This could be simply paying attention to how your breath is moving through your body, or you can do a Breathwork practice. I’ve got a few suggestions on my page, so check them out. Or DM to learn more about The Healing Circle.
- Meditate. This is not a one size fits all. There is no one way to meditate. You can get still and breathe, allowing your thoughts to move as freely as the clouds, or you can practice a moving meditation. Check out my reel on ways to meditate.
- Set intentions. This is how you want to show up in your day. This is how your want your energy to shine today. This is how your will be a force of good for the day. Think of this as a spiritual to-do list. How do you want to shine your light in the world. This can be done through prayer, an appreciation practice, or journaling. Whatever suits you!
This list goes on! Pick a place to start if you are not practicing self care in the morning. Commit to yourself. You are such a beautiful gift to this world.
Take a moment to celebrate this gift of life you’ve been given. Blessings are all around. Start this day by celebrating yourself and this gift of another day.
